Chargers @ Raiders, Game Will Officially Be Played In Oakland

After a week of debate about what to do with the game this weekend due to concerns about the wildfires raging in the Bay Area, the NFL announced the game will officially be played as planned in Oakland. There had been talk about using a wide range of stadiums if the game had to be moved due to the low air quality, with San Francisco, Los Angeles, and even San Diego all being talked about as potential locations.

The NFL did seem to leave the door open to changing the location last minute if conditions worsen, but as of now it seems very likely the game will be in Oakland. The devastating fires have thrown off the Raiders practice schedule this week, potentially providing the Chargers with an advantage. It's unclear what effect the fires and air quality might have on attendance but it's possible the crowd isn't as raucous as it usually is.
